The Richard & Rhoda Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a full time, non-tenure track academic year Assistant Adjunct position.
The Goldman School of Public Policy seeks applications from researchers with a broad interest in public policy analysis and an emphasis in social policy, including areas such as education, criminal justice, and the social safety net. Successful candidates will have extensive experience working with multiple stakeholders in the design and implementation of collaborative research projects, leading teams of policy researchers and mentoring emerging scholars, as well as skills in communicating policy research to various audiences. We are looking for intellectually rigorous and exciting candidates who can engage with a diverse faculty and can teach innovative courses to our graduate students.
Teaching Responsibilities: Primary duties include teaching graduate level courses, minimum of one course per semester.
General Duties: In addition to teaching, duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, preparing course materials, and advising and mentoring graduate students on independent research projects. The successful applicant will have an active research agenda, be engaged in professional activities and leadership as appropriate, and engage in school and campus service.
The minimum basic qualifications required to be considered an applicant for this position are: Ph.D., J.D. or equivalent international degree required at the time of application.
Preferred Qualifications: The successful candidate should have demonstrated excellence in teaching. An MPP or MPA degree strongly preferred.
