Deanne Pearn
MPP '98

Deanne Pearn has been the Executive Director for Hope Solutions: the Heart of Housing and Services since early 2017. The mission of Hope Solutions is to heal the effects of poverty and homelessness by providing permanent housing solutions and vital support services to homeless and poverty-impacted families and individuals. Founded in 1997 as a partnership between Lafayette Orinda Presbyterian Church, Temple Isaiah, and many other faith communities, Hope Solutions has grown into an $8.5M organization with over 60 staff offering a range of critical services to over 1,800 clients per year.
Prior to coming to Hope Solutions, Ms. Pearn Co-Founded First Place for Youth, a nationally recognized organization dedicated to ending poverty and homelessness among transition age youth. Over 18 years, Ms. Pearn helped grow First Place for Youth from a two-person start up to a statewide organization with over 100 staff serving nearly 2,000 youth per year. She also helped change public policy and improve the systems of care responsible for serving these young people.
Ms. Pearn holds a Master’s in Public Policy from UC Berkeley’s Goldman School and an undergraduate degree from Stanford University. She is thrilled to be working in her home county with such passionate colleagues who are committed to helping our most vulnerable neighbors build paths out of poverty.
Ms. Pearn lives in Central Contra Costa County with her husband and three children. She enjoys hiking the East Bay hills, camping, reading, cooking, and cheering too loudly at her kids’ games.
