Chris Worman

Past degree(s) received and from where:
BA Music Performance & BA Theater Performance, Lawrence University

Most recent position:
Vice President, Alliances and Program Development

Prior experience:
Founder & President, TechSoup Romania & Odorheiu Secuiesc Community Foundation

Why I chose Berkeley's MPA program:
I chose the MPA for its balance of quantitative and strategy courses, international community and timing. I look forward to taking all that I am learning back to my job at TechSoup and applying it to our program design and delivery.

Random fact about me:
I once did a photo shoot on top of the Bucharest stock exchange as a beat-up Captain America, symbolizing American hope and naivety getting roughed up in Eastern Europe.

An MPA program or story highlight:
Working on each others case studies and learning what an amazingly talented and diverse cohort comprise the 2018 Policy Bears.

How an MPA will benefit me:
The MPA's economics and statistics courses have given me several new analytical frameworks to challenge my own thinking and design. These tools, and associated vocabulary, should prove quite useful in my work building strategic, cross-sector, partnerships at TechSoup where I am currently focused on how we bring our million-strong community of nongovernmental organizations around the world into partnerships with each other, governments, bilaterals and businesses to craft a more civil society.

After graduation:
I plan on heading back to TechSoup with a new set of tools and ideas.
