About
Bettina Duval is the CEO of BRDBND, a manufacturer and distributer of specialized telecommunications hardware. A strong believer in childhood development and education, she is a member and the immediate past-president of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica Board of Governors. She also serves on the Berkeley Hall School Board of Trustees, and is a member of the Everychild Foundation. Further, Bettina is a founding board member of ACCION, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing college counseling to Latina high school students.
Many of her efforts also center around her alma mater, as she received her B.A. in Rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley. Currently, she is a Builder of Berkley, serves as a trustee on the UC Berkeley Foundation Board. Previously, she’s been a member of the UC Berkeley Parent Board and worked with the Cal Athletic Department to establish a Cal Rowing fundraising program.
Civically minded, Bettina is on the Board of Directors of the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce, which presented her with the OWL Award for her outstanding women’s leadership in 2016. She is also a past president of the Junior League of Los Angeles and was appointed to the Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation Commission from 2015 to 2017.
In 2002, Bettina founded CALIFORNIALIST, a political action committee focused on electing women in California. Six of CALIFORNIALIST’s candidates, whose careers were nurtured early on by the CALIFORNIALIST, are now serving in Congress and one in the U.S. Senate. CALIFORNIALIST has recently been renamed the California Women’s List and continues to tackle the challenges of our changing political climate.
While pursuing her bachelor's degree, she became the Campus Coordinator of the Associated Students of UC Berkeley Student Body, and partnered with the League of Women Voters to put an end to ballot tampering and other campaign violations, creating a fair and just electoral process.
